Re: So, I Rewatched The Phantom Menace Last Week

I generally like Episode 1. Jar Jar doesn't particularly bother me but I know that it was a mistake with him going too far with the slap stick comedy/dialogue. Dialogue wasn't that bad in Episode 1, but Episode 2 was. It's general knowledge that Lucas doesn't do well with dialogue. Also it has been...

Re: Hamas Attacks Israel

October 7 still being used as a talking point 7 months into the genocide actually gives me a fucking migraine when several fact-checking articles have come out by now that show Israel was completely aware there would be an escalation that day, that they let it happen because it could then be used a...

Yeah he just gets better and better with each movie.

Re: So, I Rewatched The Phantom Menace Last Week

I don’t find the dialog remarkable in revenge, but yes the first two movies dropped the ball on it. Revenge is fine as a drama, I just don’t find it compelling as a fantasy until the final act’s two scenes with ani/obi and palpatine vs Jedi council.

Re: So, I Rewatched The Phantom Menace Last Week

I'll never warm up to Attack of the Clones though no matter how much time has past. I think I'd watch either of the last two sequel films over sitting through that again, and the only reason it's not the worst film is because the Clone Wars cartoon pilot with Jabba's son Stinky got a theatrical rel...

Re: So, I Rewatched The Phantom Menace Last Week

I've mostly been paying attention to episode 2 lately, but with the first movie I just feel like that in spite of the climax the events are just uneventful. Now, Qui Gon's death was important for everything going on with the protagonists, sure, but there's no story with Mahl or anything. The most im...
