Re: Interstella 5555

Regarding the name of this movie, the Japanese is インターステラ5555 which does NOT mean Interstella 45. When the Japanese use arabic numbers like this they are not supposed to be translated otherwise it would lead to totally ridiculous situations. If you look at the Japanese wiki ( https://ja.wikipedia.o...

Re: Missing Star Trek

VOY: Future's End, Parts 1-3 are all broken. They're also embedded from Dailymotion. Have all of Chuck's videos from Dailymotion gone missing? I thought the only issue with DM was the unwanted and unskippable ads, not that they removed all of them - did I miss something? I believe after a certain d...

Re: Interstella 5555

Saying "double zero" is a provably British thing . So to an American reading the title of this film, our instinct would be to either say "five five five five" or "fifty-five fifty-five". THAT is what sounds natural to us. Well I lived in the US my entire life and not Britain, and I haven't watched ...

Re: Interstella 5555

It's also a very stupid way to pronounce '5555'. At least in English - maybe that makes more sense in Japanese, I don't know. It's not intuitive when you're *reading* it, no, but it makes perfect sense when you're saying it out loud and don't have the number to look at. When your saying it out loud...

Re: Interstella 5555

I hope it doesn't make it look like I didn't care about the reviews. Not in the least! I wouldn't know that at all if I hadn't seen the movies years ago. That's a bonus fact I was adding, not a correction! I'm so sorry if I phrased that badly. Until you did this video and pointed out how 5555 is su...

Interstella 5555

This was supposed to be up as a double feature for Christmas, but the bots wouldn't allow it. Because even though the whole thing is up on youtube, playing the same thing edited and without music clips is apparently still bad. Weird. Re: Crazy Ads, and What's Going On Now

Do what you gotta do Chuck. Honestly reuploading the old stuff is giving me an excuse/motivation to watch it again. I hadn't looked at your Gargoyles vids in years. No it's not new, and its definitely older material in terms of humor and delivery, but its still content I haven't looked at in year so...

Re: Gargoyles: The Mirror

Never noticed that before about Demona saying "you serve (present tense) the human (singular)". The Gargoyles writers planned ahead! They actually DIDN'T know what that meant at the time! They also didn't quite know Demona and Macbeth's backstory at this point. (Or at least, they didn't in season 1...

Re: TNG - Half a Life

No option we had for the bulk of 2020 to avoid lockdown did not sound like it had come out of an eugenics textbook: kill the old and the sick so that the young and healthy may flourish. And I don't think we'll have the answer by the next pandemic either although hopefully by then we'll have better ...
