Re: Microsoft has bought Bethesda
ZeniMax was doing just fine being a gigantic soulless behemoth on its own, though. At least Microsoft holds 3 of the 4 shards of power for the Fallout/Wasteland universes now.

Re: Another Flip for Dominick
'More of the same' for a concept that already might not quite have been everyone's cup of tea. A bit surprising to hear that it did so well at the time to earn a sequel like this; today it seems a bit more worthy of "Bad Movie Night" or a sideshow for a Britcom or Dr. Who marathon. Sometime soon, I'...

Re: John Boyega (Finn) vs Star Wars
Maybe it's the Dungeon Master in me talking, but I definitely would've loved to see the sequel trilogy play up just how dangerous storm troopers are. Make them fierce, crack shots with access to the most up-to-date military hardware and the training to use it. Have them drop Flashbangs while Rey is...

Re: ⋑⋓⋒⋐
It looks like it's hitting the right marks for action, aesthetic, and possibly tone. Interesting music, we'll see how the score works in the actual film. Too orchestral or industrial could make the overall experience boring, but the world-music feel dripping around the corners of the trailer might j...

Re: SG1: Heroes
Janet Fraiser gets a hero's death. And it's honest and dignified in a way that the deaths of Tasha Yar or Michael Eddington could never be. Because part of how its framed is the mourning, how it shatters the team, and how they have to pick up the pieces all while everything else comes down the pipe....

Re: She-Ra Season 2
Given the whole arc of the show, this is the season that feels like most like a classic RPG campaign. Which makes the fact they take an entire episode out to play D&D that much more awesome.

Re: TNG - The Outrageous Okona
"Brent Spiner, Whoopi Goldberg, and Joe Piscopo walk onto a set... and nobody laughs?" :D As off-kilter as it went, though, the comedy B-plot is still the part of this episode that, comparatively, went well. I mean, TNG is not a show that ever worked well for scripted comedy. You can kind of tell th...

Farscape
Farscape is a great show. I really enjoyed it in its first run, on rewatches, plus the SFDebris reviews posted from the Uncharted Territories. It may not have run that long, but it succeeded in creating something truly strange and alien. Unlike any N sci-fi adventure shows of the 1990s, it's one of...

Re: VPN & Anti-Virus: What do you use?
Antivirus, malware scanners, VPNs ... they all have a life cycle. Don't stick with any one approach too long. The best advice today is probably way outdated in 2-3 years. I vaguely recall Ars Technica doing a how-to on building your own VPN. Yes, here it is: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2017/05/h...
