Re: Reaching Out Across the Aisle

1: Class mobility is currently restricted because of the excess of regulations, taxation, and overt anti free market practices used by big business lobbying the big government to both get tax breaks AND to restrict their competition, because taxes are high and government is too large, making the lo...

Re: Reaching Out Across the Aisle

1: You're getting hung up on definitions of "Free Market" being "ABSOLUTELY NO RESTRICTIONS!", when I have repeatedly stated that a free market system needs and works better with reasonable antitrust/anti worker abuse restrictions. And I'm arguing that not only what you're describing has ceased to ...

Re: Reaching Out Across the Aisle

I still maintain what I said before. Attempts were made, but as I suspected, this won't go anywhere. I just hope you don't think this was another stab. I was really, truly trying to connect in good faith, but we're just too far apart. *Sighs.* The result feels the same, whether it's deliberate or n...

Re: Reaching Out Across the Aisle

How in Hecate's name does same sex marriage allow atheists to attack the religious? Me getting married to my sweetheart will not threaten the integrity of Christianity or Christian people in any way. The Paris Accords are, at best, a token gesture towards the problem of climate change and massive p...

Re: Star Trek 3: Search for Spock

I agree with Chuck. This is a good movie. Not great, but good, and with a tough act to follow overshadowing it. I'll gladly watch The Search for Spock again, especially as part of a viewing of all 3 movies. Ironically, I'd rather not watch The Voyage Home often, because I watched it a ton of times ...

Re: B:TAS Baby-Doll

Like many episodes of Batman: The Animated Series (including the various renamings of it along the way), this episode's end hits like an emotional truck. All credit for that goes to the writing staff and the voice actress who played the villainess. Also, in regards to Killer Croc and Baby Doll: They...

Re: Reaching Out Across the Aisle

I also feel that Christian values are fundamentally incompatible with capitalism, which by its very nature empowers the powerful and stomps on the meek. "Capitalism" is freedom to buy, sell, and create as you want/need to, with the only restrictions needed being those prohibiting monopolies, worker...
