Six hundred measly bucks

Post by Fuzzy Necromancer »

That's all we're getting in the Stimulus Check. It's not just because of Mitch McConnell, but because 42 democratic senators turned tail and sided with him, giving up on the philibuster that was our only leverage to try and get a $2,000 check, which was itself a compromise instead of what we actually needed, which was $2,000 a month for the duration of the pandemic, retroactive to the start. It's not enough to pay one month of rent for most of us, after massive layoffs and lost jobs and faltering economy, and it's all we're getting.

I really expected better of Bob Casey.

A very small bribe indeed, to expect us to overlook the billions send elsewhere, not to mention all the stuff not even remotely related to COVID.

The funny thing is that had McConnell not stone walked larger stimulus packages there is a good chance that Trump would have won the election and the GOP would have kept the Senate.

I doubt it, but that's probably why they never got moving on it until after the election. Well, that and adding like 5000 pages of pork.

And now Biden is claiming "I meant an additional 1400 to the 600 you got".

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
