I Believe In You

Access to the institution of knowledge is invaluable. Generalizing journalism as mainstream media is your own undoing.
What you mean is often just getting that paper...

You generalised that all journalism gets lumped into one box...

I never said anything about mainstream media in the first place. And sorry we didn't craft a socioeconomic society that doesn't foster exploitative people out for their own self interest as you get with capitalistic states. Capital interests which also tends to be one of the foundational aspects of a nation that espouses free speech.
Power laces... alright.

Exploitation is what you get with socialist states also...
You want free speech to be dropped by the Left?

You:
Amidst the many institutions we have between journalism and academia in a country that pioneered checks and balances.

Ironically the people that espouse freedom of speech the most lump all that in to the same system of tyranny.

It fits under journalism.

Well at least now we're getting somewhere. I think.

I was going to mention that you get less than genuine initiatives either way whether in 1st or 2nd world developments, it just didn't really serve a snarky undertone of mine though. Conversely though you can have free speech in a socialist, just that authoritarian rule tends to favor ill conservative constructs to keep things in order. I'm not proposing to get rid of free speech, but as far as any issues stemming from propaganda, taking drastic measures to bolster free speech and expecting it to solve things is latent.

Yes mainstream media fits under journalism and so does understanding reputability of a source but also well rounded sourcing of information. For as much as people fixate on either CNN or Fox News, the idea that you one source in a vacuum is judged on its ability to be a sole arbiter of news verges on asinine.

The respective discontent for CNN or Fox News. I mean whatever channel I'm watching I'll take an interest in what's being talked about, and I try to do that in a manner that spites any kind of spin they put on things. And I guess I meant that it's probably not a good idea to rely on either as your only news source. Though my personal interests I might choose CNN if I were to do that, just for several reasons.
