Re: Enterprise: Desert Crossing
Middling trivia note: I recall a (probably slightly uncharitable) entry on TV Tropes awhile back about this episode (ENT, not the review), noting that, airing in early 2002, it was about a tall, robed, self-proclaimed freedom fighter in the desert working to aid a group with a name ending in -liban,...

Re: VOY: Lineage
No permanent damage was done to the child or the Doctor, so it was allowed to be off her record. And I can understand why no one wanted to really press the issue.[...]No one outside the ship was affected at all, and no one inside the ship was really affected by it. You could chalk it up to a domest...

Re: VOY: Lineage
So, ah... did they just write Torres' stunt off as Mommy Hormones and Freudian Childhood Trauma? 'Cause she did lobotomize/brainwash a fellow crewmember, make a lot of unauthorized overrides to block off sickbay that ended up getting Security involved, to attempt to have an unnecessary medical proce...

Re: VOY - Vis-a-Vis
I've commented before that it's odd that Tom's qualification for being dragooned as the only nurse was that he'd taken "two semesters of biochemistry," and that was the closest thing to formal medical training anyone had...when they have at least one Xenobiologist onboard. Samantha Wildman. And appa...

Re: Short Treks: Q & A
There's a big difference between those episodes and DISCO. Those episodes were one-off tribute episodes for the fans, whereas DISCO is an ongoing series that's supposed to not only appeal to fans but bring in new audiences. The point of updating the aesthetics was so that the 23rd century would loo...

Re: VOY: "Nightingale"
Sadly, when you try to play the video, it just says player error. Hopefully someone has them. Like I said, you have to open up the page source code (I use Firefox, it might be harder in other browsers), find the actual Vimeo link, and copy/paste THAT to go to Vimeo directly. A small PITA, cheerfull...

Re: VOY: "Nightingale"
Anybody have any of the S3-S7 reviews? Can't find them anywhere. The repository only has S1 and S2 and a tiny amount of the rest. Esp great eps like Scorpion. Archive.org archives of the post-Vimeo moved ones still have the link to the Vimeo vids in the page source, in my experience...so, they're n...

Re: VOY: "Nightingale"
It kind of makes me wonder...has Harry really had THAT poor an amount of training and experience in command, in seven-odd years in Starfleet, plus four years in the Academy, that he's a complete bumbling naif when put in charge of a space RV? Lack of immediate chances for promotion due to circumstan...

Re: Ent: The Breach
Truly, Enterprise carries on the proud Voyager tradition of "spend all the budget on decent special effects, leave nothing for regular supporting cast playing crew members who'd logically exist"! :D ("Babylon 5: CGI rendered on two Amiga 2000s, but at least we can hire a guy to play the station ATC!")
