Re: Star Trek: Discovery - thoughts?
And then they don't even do it effectively anyway. I heard somewhere the creators are claiming they belong to "different" houses than we've seen before, so I guess my question is has anyone seen even a single smooth-headed Klingon? Even just one? Because that argument would be a lot more convincing...

Re: The Hermit's Journey. To arms, prequel defenders, to arms!
This would mean that: A) Obi-Wan and Yoda would then be hiding Leia from the Emperor by sending her to live on the Emperor's homeworld and alongside its prominent leaders. they already decided to hide luke on vader's homeworld, alongside his only living relatives True but they weren’t it’s leaders ...

Re: Star Trek: Discovery - thoughts?
Probably a case of the producers thinking that viewers wouldn’t recognise them as Klingons without the ridges, which just further adds to the ‘Why is this series set before TOS instead of after Voyager?’ confusion. In universe...didn’t the Enterprise episode where the smooth foreheads get explained ...

Re: The Hermit's Journey. To arms, prequel defenders, to arms!
Reading through the article: With the aid of Jar Jar Binks, an alliance was formed with the proud Boss Nass and the Gungans, and Captain Panaka organized together all Resistance cells. [3] Emphasis mine. To me at least, that implies there was a resistance operating during the occupation otherwise th...

Re: The Hermit's Journey. To arms, prequel defenders, to arms!
Wasn’t it established that there was still resistance forces operating on the planet during the interim between the Queen leaving and her returning (or was that just something created for the Rogue Squadron ‘spinoff’ game set during that period)? If so that’d mean the planet is ripe for Hutt sponsor...

Re: Hermit's Journey Part II
I'm not familiar with the EU at all - what typically happens to force sensitives who never get training from either Jedi or Sith? Do their talents fade, or do they end up learning all the wrong things from misusing those powers? It's an awful big galaxy to expect the few Jedi out there to find all ...

Re: Hermit's Journey Part II
I’m going to throw my name onto the pile of those that think midichlorians were unnecessary. As has already been mentioned it could have been handeled by having the Jedi sensing power within him and possibly even with them having full blown visions conveyed in the same manner as Luke’s visions in ES...

Re: ST(Films): Nemesis
Yes well Kirk seems to forget that nothing actually stops Admirals and Commodores from commanding starships. I get the intent, but it was a poorly written line... much like all of Generations. Do we ever see an Admiral commanding a ship long term rather than as leader of a fleet or under exceptiona...

Re: Hermit's Journey Part II
Well in the TCW Yoda arc, the Force Priestess has the line "what your science calls midi-chlorians" and are explained to be intermediaries between the living and cosmic aspects of the Force. Which implies that they're angelic creatures that are mistaken for microbes. Which would put Qui-Gon's "spea...

Re: Tabletop Gaming and RPG Thread!
Currently playing in two D&D 5th ed campaigns. First is set in a setting of the DM’s own creation and we’ve been playing for about year and a half to two years now. In that I’m playing a Drow paladin of Kelemvor and we’ve just started a new plot arc; the arc we just finished started when some Drow k...
