Re: Babylon 5: Deathwalker

I think I have an answer for this. Lyta, the original magical telepath teammate who ended up coming back eventually, had always been intended to have a character arc involving the Vorlons. When she left all that stuff had to be moved to Talia somehow, had Talia's actress stayed on the show she woul...

Re: Star Trek (DS9): The Quickening

I just wish its events could have either been referred to or at least been a bit more relevant later on. Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges calls back to it but not in any meaningful way (just a discussion on the quickening virus). I'd have to watch this one again to be able to weigh in on whether I agre...

Re: B5: And The Sky Full of Stars

IIRC, I think JMS explained that the Minbari who said "If he finds out - kill him!" was aware that Sinclaire was taken, but not that he was Valen - basically they wanted to keep the truth from coming out to their own people. Isn't it also likely those that knew thought he was merely a reincarnation...

Re: B5: And The Sky Full of Stars

I would assume that Psi Corps didn't put out a press release on their official letterhead saying "Clarke for Vice President". That's probably illegal even for a regular government agency, and Psi Corps is supposed to be even more restricted from tampering with politics. However, the headline looks ...

Re: Star Trek (Dis): Battle at the Binary Stars

The psychic thing isn't true. Distance has never mattered in Star Trek telepathy. That's exactly why, when Spock showed up on Romulus, they were just able to mind meld with him from across the galaxy to discern his intentions. It was clearly much safer than trying to sneak Starfleet operatives onto...

Re: Star Trek (TAS): The Counter-Clock Incident

This is the absolute worst episode of TAS for me. It is so bad I'm not even going to watch the review of it, sorry Chuck, because even if Chuck hated it there would still be no joy in him doing a Night in Sickbay or even a Shades of Grey on it. It is so bad I just want to pretend it never existed. ...

Re: Areas where you'd respectfully disagree with Chuck

And as for the latter its the opposite as I feel the episode is very overrated and does a great deserves to Terry's character as he goes from a every man who choose to be Batman to he was genetically destined to be Batman A lot of people who don't like epilogue (probably all of them actually) reall...

Re: Babylon 5: TKO

Apparently, taking time to slow down and develop the characters in a more focused way, without having to worry as much about an overarching plot, is dull, boring and pointless. No, the execution is (B5 would do other character focused episodes with little to no impact on the overall plot but in a m...

Re: Arena

Price of not having a budget to have ships facing off against each other on the same screen. Trust me, if Roddenberry had had the budget and sfx tech DS9 had, he'd have shown the Enterprise facing off against a Klingon D7 like two man-of-wars at sea (hell, Meyer did for WoK). I have often heard the...

God damn you can't catch a break can you Chuck? I understand why they don't but it would be so much easier of YouTube defended fair use.
