Re: Lower Decks - Second Contact

So let me get this straight: I should skip to halfway through the series because - and this is key - it starts out so shit that no one would continue watching it? Not impressed. I don't think I have seen anyone say skip half a season, just skip the first episode and possibly the second. That's way ...

Re: TNG - Reunion

It's similar to the way the longsword morphed into a fencing rapier. The rapier can absolutely be deadly in a one on one honor duel, but you weren't going to take it into a battlefield to try and kill armored men with. Similarly, we never see batleths fighting any other handheld weapons... just oth...

Re: Dragon Age: Inquisition

Ah the Templar/Mage conflict. Dragon Age 1 provided the setup, Dragon Age 2 was all buildup and then kicked it off, and Inquisition moved past it as fast as possible.

Re: Lilo and Stitch

Wow Chuck, with all your recent problems you now risk the wrath of Disney? Is just on the off chance of being able to tell them personally "fuck you very much" for killing blip?

Good review and brought up some stuff I hadn't considered with Lilo.

Re: Jurassic Park film

By the time I was finished recording Jurassic Park Red, I was slamming my fist down asking the universe, "Why is James Earl Jones talking to me on the toilet not already a real thing?!!" At some point in my life I want to go to the Toho hotel in Japan and pilot MechaGodzilla on the toilet because.....

Re: Book: Jurassic Park

Fun fact, that silly looking GUI was an actual file browser, and not something made for the film. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fsn_(file_manager) Neat, I sent that to my brother who I figured would get a kick out of it and his response was "My career in IT is driven by the fact that I can login ...

Re: Book: Jurassic Park

Oh, and ''its a Unix system!'' Anyone else notice how many films and TV shows back in the '90s had to have some kid in it who could hack computers? And how often it always seemed to involve rapid and random tapping on a keyboard in front of some nonsense graphic? Hitting random buttons on the keybo...

Re: Babylon 5: Matters of Honor

There were other issues for season 5 as well. JMS lost all his notes for season 5 and had to rebuild them from memory at the same time he was trying to figure out how to fill out the season (because the end of the Earth war had been moved to season 4) and what to do with Ivanova's absence. This led ...

Re: Babylon 5: Matters of Honor

Yeah I love hearing him talk too. That guy was peak nineties hearthrob. JMS was aware how some female fans felt about him as this quote shows. " It's okay...so are most of the women who work in the editing bays at B5. The first few days of this season, as his stuff started coming in, one of them pu...

Re: Babylon 5: Matters of Honor

None of those situations make sense to bring it up. It was an insanely inefficient, suicidal, and classified maneuver that even Humanity on the brink of extinction ultimately decided was too stupid to do. There is just no way for something like that to come up naturally in conversation unless they a...
