Re: TNG - The Masterpiece Society
Except that they do love it. Are we sure about that? We only see the opinions of a few individuals who are in leadership roles and even then one wants to leave as soon as she realizes its an option. Maybe others never even really considered the option to leave and do something else because that was...

Re: VOY - Random Thoughts
The prop that Chuck refers to has been on several other episodes of Star Trek. I think it was used in A Matter of Perspective. I'm sure it popped up more. Anyone else remeber it?
Ok I was wrong, I just double checked. I swear though its been in other episodes.

Re: TNG - A Matter of Honor
Nothing wrong with white bread. The humble white loaf has probably done more to decrease childhood mortality, ensure basic nutrition for adults, and combat starvation, than any other invention in history. And that is before it came presliced and fortified with vitamins. White bread is awesome. But ...

Re: TNG - A Matter of Honor
One of the things that really amazes me is how white bread and boring Starfleet is. Most of the food the Klingons eat isn't that weird compared to some human foods.

Re: Picard - Remembrance
When Federation members threaten to Brexit if more androids are built or ships that are helping other planets are redistributed to the Romulans what is Picard's strategy ? You do this or I resign. And in a huge shock (to everyone who is not Picard) Starfleet chooses many member planets and a big po...

Re: Star Trek Discovery: The Trouble With Edward
I get why some people are sympathetic to Edward but I've worked with an Edward and I'm not in anyway sympathetic. Edward isn't like Barkley except in the most vague of ways. They are both smart but awkward people that's really it. Barkley wants to be a good officer and friend and he is trying. Edwar...

Re: VOY: "Nightingale"
Out of all the weird information that Star Fleet keeps around and all the different species that interact in the Federation and its work, I find it hard to believe there isn't a holographic training course on human sexuality and attraction. Because I have no doubt the confused about attraction thing...

Re: DIS - Point of Light
I agree with the whole "new toy" bit but otherwise I thought this was a good episode. They over use it but my complaint is with the scene in the lab with Tilly that he uses to talk about its excess, its actually well used in that scene. It gives the viewer a sense of strangeness that I think helps t...

Re: DS9 - The House of Quark
The only explanation that I'm aware of came from the The Lost Era novel, "The Art of the Impossible." It's said that after Azetbur died, a reactionary (no, seriously, that's what even other Klingons called him) named Kaarg became Chancellor and he decreed women could not be Chancellor or serve on t...

Re: DS9 - The House of Quark
I have often wondered how such 19th century sexism survived into the 24th century. Women are not allowed a seat on the council? They are not allowed to even run a House? These women are essentially Amazons! They should make the Suffragettes look like children in the havoc they would cause trying to...
