Re: Trek Moments You Can't Wait For Chuck to Talk About
There's a scene in Shakaar that I really want to hear Chuck react to. The moment where Sisko uses THE PRIME DIRECTIVE to tell Kai Winn off. Like Chuck, I dislike the way the Prime Directive ended up being used as a plot device but seeing Sisko piss off Winn by invoking it just brought a smile to my ...

Re: TNG - The Ensigns of Command
Something Chuck didn't note in his review was that the producers also re-wrote Melinda Snodgrass' script that she nearly took her name off the episode. Originally her script stated the radiation did not affect phasers and Data was holding back from using it as a last resort. So when she found out th...

Re: Areas where you'd respectfully disagree with Chuck
I don't think there was a Stupid Neelix Moment in Dark Frontier. Chuck picked the scene where Neelix talks about his family with Seven as the stupid moment but I thought it was good writing.

Re: Star Trek Beyond
Serious question: has Abrams ever had an original idea? Because I am only familiar with him from Trek and Wars, and from what I can see.., There's an old 1992 Mel Gibson movie, Forever Young, that I was shocked to discover was one of JJ's first screenplays. Granted the plot points aren't very origi...

Re: TNG - The Mind's Eye
I seem to recall Chuck mocking poor trigger discipline in the review of Empok Nor. So I was surprised at a lack of snark over Geordi firing the phaser near Data in Main Engineering. Doesn't the Enterprise have a firing range?

Re: DIS - New Eden
New Eden features a surprisingly rare mention of Beta Quadrant in the entire franchise (I think Sulu mentions it in Star Trek VI as well as SINGLE references in DS9 and VOY). There are maps which show the Klingons and Romulans occupy Beta Quadrant but this has never really been made clear in dialogu...

Re: DIS - Brother
I was not expecting that stinger this early. It's the exact Simpsons moment that EVERYONE was quoting after the season finale. I'm guessing Chuck just needed to get that out of his system.

Re: Miniseries: The Colour of Magic
Then you have something like COnan the Barbarian which has had movies and comics and cartoon shows that all get different aspect of the character, but don't really *add* anything. Conan has never really been made richer by those that have added onto it. Aside from maybe the Marvel Comics run with R...

Re: Miniseries: The Colour of Magic
So unlike some (*cough*Brian Herbert) she was able to let series end with death of her father who had created it instead of dragging it on and on. This is a topic that I love and hate. Dune lost all its magic under Brian Herbert that I agree with the decision to destroy Terry Pratchett's unfinished...

Re: Miniseries: The Colour of Magic
Witches starts with Equal Rites, which is okay, but all other Witches books are much better. It's okay to skip to Wyrd Sisters since Granny Weatherwax is also a little different in Equal Rites (and Equal Rites is pretty stand alone except for her). It's the lack of Nanny Ogg and Magrat in that one....
