Re: Star Trek (TOS): The Enemy Within

One reason I'd rate the episode higher is that it's so enjoyable, despite the in-universe inconsistency. The concept is played out so well that even after multiple viewings, you don't care that much about the shuttles. It doesn't take you out of the story.

Re: TNG- 11001001

Being more or less a bottle episode helps here. We were spared the S1 smugness we often got when interacting with other races.

Re: TNG- 11001001

My first question is, why does the Enterprise need an upgrade after only being in service such a short time. Does Starfleet contract out the OS to Microsoft? Also, given its duties, it's one hell of a risk that the Enterprise would be available within the window the Bynars needed. Its upgrade could ...

Re: TNG - 11001001

Yeah, this episode is one of the few good episodes from S1. I do find it odd that the Bynars needed Enterprise for this task, surely a warp capable civilization had to have ships of their own with high capacity storage memory, right? Unless of course the Bynars don't believe in data backup. They ma...

Re: TNG - The Ensigns of Command

What does the episode title mean? There's no ensign with a significant role. Data is technically in "command" of a one android mission and probably learns something that would be useful to future command situations, but that's not really mentioned in-story.

Re: TNG - The Ensigns of Command

When looking at the forced relocation stories, the differences have to be analyzed as well. Ensigns of Command - The Federation had no knowledge of the colony, didn't think the planet had value to them due to the radiation (no immune species in the Federation?). The Maquis - The Federation knew they...

Re: TNG - Reunion

The thing is Gowron does become the type of underhanded bastard that would poison someone... but thats years later. Reunion what type of Klingon Gowron is left up in the air... obviously if They went in depth like It be bloody fucking obvious who the culprit was... even though as we've discussed It...

Re: TNG - Reunion

At this point if course we should remember that Jadzia once teamed up with Kang and Koloth to seek revenge. All she got was a headshake. But that is Starfleet for you. Kirk can sleep with the universe, Kim gets a reprimand for a single nights fun. Ro gets her earring taken away because of the unifo...

Re: TNG - Reunion

I guess one of the things that isn't half human on K'ehleyr is her vagina given how she gave birth to a baby with a huge spiky head. I don't even have a vagina and I am crossing my legs at the thought. And yes, you may thank me for that horrific mental image. I also personally doubt that a Bat'leth...

Re: TNG - Reunion

When you think about it, this is the longest running ongoing story in Trek history. It spans TNG and DS9 and doesn't come to a complete end until Martok becomes Chancellor.
