Re: Miniseries: The Colour of Magic
Just a little correction to SFdebris The Color of Magic might be the last live action series based on the Discworld universe, but it wasn´t the last miniseries made. A cartoon show was also produced about tow of the other books Soul Music and Wyrd Sisters. Both are quite good, though its easy to see...

Re: Requests Temporarily Re-opened...

Re: Dragon Age II: EA boogaloo
To bring the discussion back to DA2, one of my big hangups about the setting is that it's not just grimdark, but it's stupidly grimdark - people are awful because the writers think that makes them 'deep' and 'serious'. I think this is best exemplified by Orsino flipping out and trying to murder you...

Re: Dragon Age II: EA boogaloo
Mass Effect 3 has a lot of problems. One of them is the complete lack of consequences of choice, all the other games had the whole your choices matter. Mass Effect 2 was an excellent example of choices in that your choices determined what kind of ending you got. Also one thing i don´t understand is ...

Re: Dragon Age II: EA boogaloo
Honestly I think the afterlife question is much more open than you realize. We only have Andraste's word for it that the Black City was ever the maker's Golden City and that tevinter mages corrupted it. Maybe that was just an allegory about hubris that got literalized and jarbled over the ages. May...

Re: Dragon Age II: EA boogaloo
In the end from what little we know about the behind the scenes of ME:3 ME:A and DA:2 and maybe DA:I One of their main problem was that they where either rushed through development or a lot of their development was aimless. DA:2 and ME:3 where both rushed to meet a deadline and as such wasn´t finish...

Re: Dragon Age II: EA boogaloo
Counting Sebastian's quest, since it was technically DLC, day one DLC yes, but still DLC. And yes you are right the gabs in between arcs are the only possible place it could be placed in. Problem is that 1: That armor you recently got/in this year right now, is the one you are wearing when starting ...

Re: Dragon Age II: EA boogaloo
Even without EA people would still be disappointed. Because then Bioware would be experimenting and taking risks and still wouldn't be interested in satisfying anyone's nostalgic obsessions. It's like what Bob Dylan said: "just because you like my stuff doesn't mean I owe you anything". The whole j...

Re: Dragon Age II: EA boogaloo
BioWare has been going downhill for a while now. Anthem will be a failure and EA will close them in two or three years at the most. Don't get me wrong, I don't want anybody to loose their jobs but unless Anthem get's canceled BioWare will not celebrate it's 30th year. Or unless Anthem becomes a hug...

Re: Dragon Age II: EA boogaloo
To me DA:2 was truly the beginning of the end of Bioware. ME:3 Not only did the ending suck, but it pretty much also went straight ahead and said that in a series where your choices had consequences, they pretty much meant nothing in the end and your options was Red, Blue and Green. DA Inquisition.....
