Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi [SPOILERS]

George Lucas: "I ruined Star Wars; Ja Jar, Midi-chlorians, politics, emo-Anakin...no one can top that!"
Rian Johnson: "George , hold my beer!" :D

I thought, that there can't be anything worse than the prequels... I was wrong, so wrong!

Re: Hermit's Journey Part III

IMO the weakest aspect of EpIII is the wrap up, need to get everything tied up in a neat bow so we can move into A New Hope. That and the ''high ground''... And really, the "fall" of Anakin from noble hero to murderous villain is too fast to get invested in. Sure, he's kind of callous for a heroic ...

Re: Hermit's Journey Part III

The quote that really gets me is at the very end regarding time. Like "What was George supposed to do? Stop time itself?" No. What he was supposed to do was anticipate the passage of time (moving at the exact same rate it always moves) BEFORE he ran out of it. Maybe if he'd brought that other write...

Re: The Hermit's Journey. To arms, prequel defenders, to arms!

I'm not going to deny that they're clunky, awkward or unclear a lot of the time, or claim that they are equal to the originals, but Lucas does not "deserve every bit of criticism". The criticisms are frequently hyperbolic or nonsensical ( like Jar Jar being racist) and things like Mr. Plinkett, whi...

Re: The Hermit's Journey. To arms, prequel defenders, to arms!

Sorry, if you are defending prequels, then you are part of the problem - you are one of the reasons why bad movies are being made! You see there is one, very telling line in sf debris's analysis - to paraphrase: "Lucas had hoped that no one will notice, that his story make no sense". Sorry, George, ...

Re: Star Trek: Discovery in trouble?

You want this futurist series to be shot on film and still look like the Future? DS 9 in terms of of it's main theme was radically different. You think if Beyond is more Treky it would have sold better? How is DS9 so much different than, let's say "The Undiscovered Country"? Whether or not "Beyond"...

Re: Star Trek: Discovery in trouble?

Tell me one thing; WHY CALL THIS THING A STAR TREK? If you change so much, then you could just make a new franchise! Why bother with "Star Trek" licence in the first place? Of course I'm talking about other reasons than just wanting to milk the fans... Didn't DS 9 and TNG change a lot of things? So...
