Re: Star Trek (VOY): Dreadnought
I think we can assume that replicators DO have limitations on the kinds of things they can create. It's possible there are metals or materials that, while they can scan them, they don't understand enough about to truly replicate them in the same way. We saw in Q Who the Borg ship repairing itself - ...

Re: Star Trek (VOY): Dreadnought
It's just such a pity how the status quo was God so much on Voyager. I could see Voyager doing a Battlestar Galactica-style thing of leading a ragtag group of ships across the quadrant, some staying and some going occasionally - refugees, resource issues, a mini-Federation heading towards a place s...

Re: Star Trek (DS9): The Quickening
As for those who want a purely objective review of...well, anything, there's always Jim Sterling's 100% Objective Game Review , which I think should count as a cautionary tale against that sort of thing. I vaguely remember early days Jimquisition videos...did not know he went on to style himself as...

Re: Star Trek (DS9): The Quickening
I do see where Chuck is coming from with this one - there's nothing WRONG with it, but it's just one of those outings that's just not that engaging. I see it all the time - TV shows or movies that aren't actually bad, but there's nothing clever or interesting enough about them to really comment on. ...

Re: B5: And The Sky Full of Stars
IIRC, I think JMS explained that the Minbari who said "If he finds out - kill him!" was aware that Sinclaire was taken, but not that he was Valen - basically they wanted to keep the truth from coming out to their own people.

Re: Star Trek (Dis): Context Is for Kings
This sums up my feelings on how people are criticizing DIS and several modern shows on this particular aspect very well. We hear so often now, "I don't want politics shoved down my throat", when in fact when you look at the show itself the aspects they're talking about are just kinda there. The imp...

Re: B5: And The Sky Full of Stars
Got to disagree about this being a Fine or that Knight 2 was over the top. I'd say it's a "Must See" since while "The Gathering" got things started with the hole in Sinclair's mind thing, it wasn't REALLY followed-up or mentioned until now and it gets Sinclair started on his plot for the entire seas...

We're finally getting comics that follow-up. Three issues are out now, though they're being released kind of slowly.Fixer wrote: I checked a while back and we didn't even get a follow up novel to SGU. I guess we have to assume the entire crew died

Re: Star Trek (Dis): Context Is for Kings
Well, like I said, I wouldn't feel the need to say it if history hadn't taught me it needed saying. If even a fellow ChannelAwesome contributor will say in public that sexism is why guys don't like Voyager and then single me out specifically, then the memo clearly isn't getting out there. :) Hope t...
