Re: VOY: Repentance

I'd strongly recommend skipping to part 2 of this review if you want to save yourself from nearly twenty minutes of inane babbling.

Re: Twilight Zone: Five Characters in Search of an Exit

The Velveteen Rabbit was a more likely inspiration for Toy Story, but there have been plenty of this kind of "living toys" stories told over the years.

Re: Twilight Zone: Five Characters in Search of an Exit

Imagine if they did this episode now. You'd have a transforming robot, at least a couple of superheroes, some fighting monsters, maybe a wrestler or two, etc.

Re: BushidoBots - an original work of fiction by Chuck

I don't have much confidence in that animated series. At best, it would be like the early 2000s Transformers comics where they threw every project at Simon Furman (who'd written for the franchise in the '80s and '90s) to rapidly diminishing returns, but more likely it'll be like when George Lucas ca...

Re: Rock & Rule

The eighties/nineties split is a special case. The end of the Cold War was such a huge social paradigm change that it reshaped everything, even music, and it occurred right on the end of decade almost to the year. It made the eighties so very different from the nineties in a way that nothing else d...

The embed for part 1 doesn't work. It's viewable through the playlist, but when I hit "play" on the individual video it says that it's been removed.

There was actually a similar mistake in the page that Chuck displays at the 6:15 m...

There was an episode of the '90s revival of The Outer Limits with the same premise. David Hyde Pierce (Niles from Frasier) played the lead role.

I wonder if it would make sense to set up a PeerTube instance for this site.

Re: DIS - New Eden

That "no dead people in Starfleet" rule isn't really as rigid as Chuck makes it seem here. Spock, for instance, continued to serve long after his death. Same with Harry Kim.
