Re: TNG - The Masterpiece Society
Chuck's big rant about the PD can't help but remind me of one defence of it - in particular the usage in Homeward - that will never fail to infuriate me to no end. "But what if they turned out to be the next Dominion?" Great, what if they turn out to be the once species that can beat the next Domini...

Re: The Lost World: Jurassic Park
One thing that I feel like might be being overlooked in the 'poaching or not' debate is the fact that the animals on the island were not only engineered and bred by InGen, they were by my understanding bred (at least initially) for the specific purpose of being displayed as captive creatures in Jura...

Re: TOR Bounty Hunter
I'm amused by that Jedi's comment that "revenge profits no one", considering it's sure as hell going to profit the guy sent to take revenge on the Mandalorians' behalf"! One thing I liked about "The Mandalorian" is that with the fall of the Empire and the collapse of the major underworld powers, the...

Re: Book: Jurassic Park
Then again, the description of the animals as 'six feet tall' with, as I recall, heads about two feet long is a little too big even for Deinonychus , and the animals in the movie are smaller than Utahraptor, which has been reconstructed at some slightly terrifying sizes for a dromaeosaur. Yeah, Uta...

Re: Book: Jurassic Park
It's mostly because Crichton used the name Velociraptor for the animals, but used the larger, Deinonychus as the "physical model" for them (though he based that on, at the time, at least one paleontologist considering Deinonychus a larger species of Velociraptor (it isn't)). The movies scaled them ...

Re: Equestria Girls - Valentines Day
Ah, the moment I heard that bassline playing, I knew exactly where that joke was going to go and I love it. I never really had the same visceral sort of reaction to EqG as a lot of bronies at the time had, nor to the idea of Twilicorn. I got into the show in a pretty dark time in my own life, bingin...

Re: MLP Lincoln's Day (?) Show
Ah, Starlight, Starlight... Both as a villain and a reformed hero, I like her. As a villain, she's scary not for the raw power she wields (though it does help) but the personality and the means. She uses actual cult indoctrination techniques, convinces a whole host of embittered ponies to drop what ...

Re: BSG - "You Can't Go Home Again"
I believe they're referring to Lee jumping back to New Caprica and covering Galactica's retreat, only to ram Pegasus into a basestar and sacrifice what might just have been the Fleet's most valuable asset. That's the crowning moment of damnation for him. He's shown as a bad commander through the ep...

I believe they're referring to Lee jumping back to New Caprica and covering Galactica's retreat, only to ram Pegasus into a basestar and sacrifice what might just have been the Fleet's most valuable asset. There's a parallel there of doing something that a lot of people consider to be extremely stu...

Re: Is the prohibition against SW Prequel Reviews even still relevant?
I'm inclined to agree that, regardless of how many other people have made their own videos, essays and so on, it would be worthwhile to see Chuck's take on the prequels. After all, as others have said, he did reviews of the OT despite admitted up front that there wasn't much left to talk about. That...
