Re: Rock & Rule

Full review is up! This is a pretty good movie in my opinion, a prime example of the crazy, more adult oriented animation that was so rare back then and is taken for granted now (even abused in my opinion).

Island of Lost Souls

!https://sfdebris.com/videos/films/islandoflostsouls.php! Hope Chuck will cover other classic horror films from this era. I confess the Legosi Dracula didn't impress me but the first two Frankenstein films really struck me. It's a sad thing Richard Stanley's vision of the 96 film never came to pass,...

Re: The Phantom of The Paradise

This is one hell of a movie, it's hard to believe the guy who directed Mission Impossible, The Untouchables and Scarface did this. It's not my favorite of the oddball horror-comedies with musical aspects from this era (that would go to The Abominable Dr. Phibes), but it's still a great time. Music's...

Re: Superman AS: World's Finest

I do like this crossover. I do feel like it has Batman's stuff overshadow Superman's a bit though. Joker thoroughly beats Supes *and* Lex, requiring Batman without really much turnaround save the robot in the printing machine (Which is then immediately followed up by Batman beating up bigger robots...

Re: The Mandalorian

Face it. EU blows. I don't know anything about it, and there's a reason why -- because it's no good. So by that logic, War and Peace must be worthless because I don't know anything about it. That's just complete nonsense, dude. EU is a mixed bag, much like the Disney EU. There's some great stuff in...

Re: The Mandalorian

A fantastic debut for Ahsoka in live action, and finally, a good live-action lightsaber fight scene produced by Disney and one opponent doesn't even have a lightsaber. I'm curious who got Grogu out? Jocasta Nu? Shaak Ti? Some other random character? Setting up Thrawn and Tython will sure make the re...

Re: TNG - Half a Life

My condolences for your grandma, Chuck. One of my grandmothers passed away earlier this year, though mainly due to issues with a stroke she suffered last year and not from covid. It's never easy, especially now where we can't even have a big, proper funeral like our loved ones deserve. And it's wond...

Re: TNG - 11001001

A season one TNG episode that Chuck doesn't give a negative/subpar rating to? It really is the end of days.

Re: BBC's The Watch is apparently Discworld in name only, because adaptations are hard.

I think Discworld is like Sandman. The only proper way to adapt it is an animated series aimed at adults. I know there were animated Discworld shows before, but I've yet to see them. And Disney wanted to adapt Mort as an animated movie, but dropped it when Bob Iger (or some high up executive) told t...

Re: Why Walter Peck was wrong?

I've always wondered how the hell anyone could think Peck was in the right. I mean, he flat out accuses the Ghostbusters of using chemicals to make people see ghosts, when we can see for a fact that's obviously not true. And his handling of the situation is reckless endangerment of thousands of live...
