The Dark Crystal background video
At the beginning of the Dark Crystal review video, it mentions that the background video will go into “greater detail … next month”. Did that appear, and get lost in a server move, or it’s a Patreon exclusive or something?

Secret Easter Egg videos.
I was watching the Red Dwarf reviews, and for some reason, if you wait after one’s finished, part two of the Age of Ultron series starts playing. From there, you can also get to the other two parts. Going directly to the Agebof Ultron page, the videos still appear as “private videos”.

Re: Mars Attacks 60th Anniversary
No. 16 Panic in Parliament: at the moment, murderous aliens bursting through the roof can only be an improvement. “The usual reserved meeting hall…” - I don’t think the guy who wrote this had ever been to England.

Re: VOY: Repentance
That Prime Directive novel was my first experience of the … well, Prime Directive, and I recall it being handled in a much more intelligent and nuanced way than it’s apparently dealt with onscreen. The Enterprise was concealing itself to avoid undue influence, and when the threat was revealed to be ...

Re: TOS - Is There in Truth No Beauty?
As far as I remember from David Langford’s BLIT, direct viewing of the “parrot” image (which is what inspired my avatar image) does in fact kill nearly instantly. The one character who succumbs to it during the story takes a longer exposure, but that’s because he’s been getting repeated glimpses of ...

Re: DS9 - Visionary
This reminds me of my niggly annoyance with DS9 - O’Brien and Bashir don’t play darts properly. Always going for the bull instead of treble 20.

Re: Sic Transit Vir
On a rather shallow note, one of the great pleasures of science fiction on the telly is hearing Peter Jurasik saying “Viiiir!” In that accent.

Re: In Defense of Star Trek V
This one is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. The films (in a somewhat random order) were my introduction to Trek, along with the novels and novelisations, with their 70s Frazetta-style covers. The novelisation works better than the film, I think. There’s more backstory about the colony and the thr...

Part 2, 7:53: [the lack of toilet paper] "still left a scar".
That'll happen if you use the sandpaper instead.

Re: Star Trek 3: Search for Spock
Meanwhile, a century later and the Federation demonstrates the ability to rejuvenate stars* and no-one cares; it's just the backdrop for a fairly silly psychic powers plot.
