Re: A Voyager Rewrite, sir, but mine own!
You can't have the Romluans fade into the background. Their primary characteristic is their chuavanistic arrogance. That has to create tension with the rest of the crew. You also want to have a subversion, with a Romulan who comes to appreciate the hewmans. It's probably too late, but Remember Comma...

Re: Does anyone else find it creepy that G'Kar was watching Delenn and Sheridan?
I don't get the impression that Lyta and G'kar end up together. Lyta was basically throwing shade at his boast from season 1 (JMS confirmed it one of his BBS/message board posts). Lyta's 100% focused on her telepath work and G'kar has to contend with being a misunderstood religious icon. With regard...

Re: Building Vorlon society...
I disagree with Kosh being their leader. He was an ambassador to B5, and with what we learn of the Vorlons later as well as right off the bat (Remember, they were willing to blow up B5, including Valen, over a minor spat) he's rather moderate who cared about the younger races. Kosh 2.0 was the compl...

Re: Did Jack the Ripper have a Vorlon in his head?
I think the Vorlon's implant an essence of theirs into their puppets like Jack. I think it's part consciousness-part control chip. They maintain a good degree of autonomy, but there are clearly limits to this. We saw with Lyta that she carried Kosh 2.0's essence inside her when she traveled out of h...

Yeah, not gonna disagree with you. G'kar's sexual perversity hasn't been brought up since season 1 to make it odder.
btw, what anime is this Yuka character from?

The less said about Legend of the Rangers the better.

Re: Does anyone feel Londo and G'Kar's "friendship" was too quick?
Yes, it's very rushed. Like everything about season 4 (they were told the 4th season would be the last...and then at the last minute found out they got extended a fifth season). Their relationship is presented more normally in season 5 with some tension. And the moment when G'kar actually forgives L...

Re: Best Trek episode
Good topic.
TOS: City of the Edge of Forever
TNG: If we can include two parters, Chain of Command or Best of Both Worlds are tied
DS9: Duet
Voy: Year of Hell I guess.
Haven't watched the newer series.

Re: Is serialization the best idea for sci-fi right now?
The problem is that there is a tension between story telling and commercial interests. If you're a studio and you're green lighting a show, you want it to run a profit for as long as possible (unless you're at Fox). When you're telling a story, there are definite points in the story (introduction, r...

Re: At what point do you feel that we will all be "burnt out?"
I've been there for a long time. Ever since my 20s when I fancied myself a cinephile and discovered Bergman, Kurosawa, Felini, etc, I found I can't tolerate bad art, even ironically. People love MST3K but I can't get into it because the movies are irredeemably awful, even with their funny commentary...
