Re: Them!
It helps I was lucky enough didn't know it was about Giant Ants when I first saw it, it just happened to be showing on a classic movie channel and I had caught it from the beginning. That scene from the beginning when you first heard the notice the things make without knowing what was making it and ...

Re: Them!
I have to admit this was one of my top five giant monster movies along with Rodan, Godzilla King of the Monsters, The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms and Mothra vs Godzilla. I think one of the things that stood out the most to me was the suspense, they didn't just reveal the monsters but built up to them ...

Re: Patlabor the movie
I have to admit for a long time the only reason I even knew that the first Patlabor move existed because the second film is literally called Patlabor 2 the movie which I have to admit is perhaps my favorite mecha movie.

Re: The Walking Dead - Days Gone Bye
I have to admit I recall the walking dead mostly for the jokes my coworkers made at work about zombie groundskeepers when the cast crossed clearly maintained golf courses but I never really had much of a interest in the walking dead or any other zombie apocalypse media. Was never my cup of tea and t...

Re: King Kong vs. Godzilla Review and History
I was a little confused by the joke about the main characters explorer outfits being associated with smallpox blankets. I'm guessing they're associated with the European colonization of Africa? Still, when I see those outfits the first thing I think is less "exploiting the natives" and more "cheap ...

Re: DS9: Business as Usual
Perhaps, but then the same is true for any other weapon when it's not being used. The same argument can be made for a nuclear bomb, which has no other intent but to murder millions of lives in a single blast. It's just I find Chuck making a distinction between sarin gas and a gun to be a bit of a m...

Re: DS9: Business as Usual
Guns like spears, crossbows, slings, bows and arrows and so forth have had and do have good uses outside of war or murdering people as they have been used as tools for hunting for food or controlling dangerous pests like invasive species though.

Re: Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
I would say at the very least its better than any of the other batman movies I've seen. However that is likely my personal tastes speaking given besides liking the animated series I also liked the 1966 batman movie and the 66 TV series but I'd sooner watch batman and robin again than watch any of No...

Re: Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
So how does everybody feel about this movie being a definitive Batman movie? Yeah it is a definitive batman but then it is the batman from the old animated universe which pretty much produced some of the most iconic versions of batman, wonder woman and superman seen in decades as well as introduced...

Re: Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
It should also perhaps noted that while Bruce Wayne does use his vast fortune and business to make things better there are others who don't. A example of this would be Roland Dagget, Ruby Ryder, Gregorian Falstaff and others, powerful business tycoons who who use their fortunes for evil purposes and...
