Re: Should Kathleen Kennedy be let go from the Star Wars megaproject?
Definitely agree that the lazy worldbuilding of Ep. 7 has hurt them long-run. Why does one have to be a racist to have problems with SJW's? What definition are you using exactly. The definition that every single time I've seen people whining about "culture wars" and "SJWs" it's coming from an alt-ri...

Re: Should Kathleen Kennedy be let go from the Star Wars megaproject?
I honestly don't know if she should. There's only three franchises other than the MCU and Star Wars itself that have kept the level of sequel potential that SW currently has for serious lengths of time, one of them consists entirely of B-movies, one of them is largely non-serialized and half its fil...

Re: DIS: Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum
I actually really didn't like this episode, for a couple of reasons; I didn't feel there was much character in a character-focused episode (one of the few that STD even has), I found the CGI to be something of an eyesore, and I HATE the worldbuilding for Saru's species with a burning passion. Saru's...

Code of Honor problem
Code of Honor isn't showing up for me on the website. Normally, this would not be a problem, as Code of Honor is like having diarrhea poured down my throat, but Chuck's riffing of it and analysis is one of the most reliable ways to make me laugh and after the brutal hell that was senior year I kind ...

I don't think that Lwaxana is always bad, and I genuinely enjoy "Menage a Troi" even though it is dumb and goofy, because the writers were smart enough to realize how annoying Lwaxana was in her earlier appearances and use that as a source of comedy in-universe.

Re: STD: Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad
First, I've enjoyed all of Chuck's STD reviews, but I enjoyed this one particularly. Not a lot makes me laugh out loud, but this one did. I've only seen the episode as presented in this review, so I only know what's in there, and grains of salt as appropriate. The time loop thing, well, it's been d...

Re: STD: Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad
Long time SFDebris fan, first time poster, and I just wanted to chime in that this is the first episode where I realized that this show had no substance and instead consists entirely of hack writing, lazy attempts at fanservice, and lazier attempts to ape nuBSG without any of the careful writing tha...
