ST GXQ Galaxy Quest
https://sfdebris.com/videos/films/galaxyquest.php Chuck says Honest about the flaws in Trek and Fandom, but not cruel about the flaws. True. These fans are indeed us. Terry Pratchett had a cunning plan. The official Linnaean classisfication of People is Homo Sapiens = wise man. Pratchett ...

Re: Star Trek Beyond BEY
I give it a high rating. I follow Chuck's system score each episode in terms of Nu Trek as a whole.I give BEY an average rating.

Star Trek Beyond BEY
BEY is very silly. but it is entertaining funny silly, rather than irritating silly. I have already watcged DIScovery, so all the squabbling aliens were just anther Klingon civil War.
I do not accept Abrams as Canonical Trek, but BEY is an entertaining show and I appreciate it as a thing in itself.

Re: Miniseries: The Colour of Magic
HOnestly, reading Snuff (and to a lesser extent this was true in Raising Steam as well), the Embuggerance's main impact on the quality of Pratchett's work was less that the stories were less interesting or Discworld-y and more that his capacity to couch his messaging in humor and wordplay waned, so...

Re: Media (movies or TV shows) you like but everyone else hates?
1) Waterworld the ''most expensive failure of all time''. Its not a deep film, its mindless action, but I don't think it was ever intending to be anything more. I think if this was a 2019 film, its practical effects over CGI and its green message would probably make it a winner. 2) Ben Affleck's Da...

Re: VOY: Extreme Risk Review
Didn't Nazis have a plan to send dogs strapped with bombs to front lines or something? That was the Soviets, actually. How were they going to get the Soviets to strap bombs to themselves? Cunning plan: put dog food under Battle Tanks; train dogs to go under the Tanks; when dogs are trained and ther...

Re: Was Eddington the wrong leader for the Maquis?
I mean, as of now, I'm kind of leaning on the Federation kinda fumbling things by not handling the Cardassians better. Picard knew that they were shady from the very first preconception of the Maquis with the Starfleet renegades. Then from there, was Cal the only Starfleet officer handling the colo...

Re: My (mostly) unspoiled watch of Babylon 5
S2, Episode 16: In the Shadow of Z'ha'dum Whoah, lots of reveals, and lots of questions here. 1. I really enjoy watching Vir talking smack to the Eldritch Abomination. 2. Why has Sheridan not realized until now that the Icarus was headed to Z'ha'dum? I would have expected their flight plan was one ...
