Re: New Star Trek series staring Sir Patrick Stewart

Patrick Stewart is a very old man. I have no pleasure in saying that, aging is a tragic thing. But, nevertheless, its true. Those of you envisioning some grand last adventure for Picard are going to be very disappointed. Whatever this product is, it is going to be ''Captain Picard sits in a chair''...

Re: New Star Trek series staring Sir Patrick Stewart

It will be interesting to see the state of the Romulans after the whole supernova incident. True that CBS is under no obligation to keep that plot point but given Kurtzman's involvement, it'll likely stick.

Re: New Star Trek series staring Sir Patrick Stewart

Well if it can give the character a better final story than Nemesis this its worth rolling the dice on.

Re: Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 trailer and panel

And all I wanted was reasonable discussion and speculation on season 2.

This is why I gave up on foruks for years.

Re: Star Trek (DIS): Despite Yourself

Have they actually confirmed which timeline this series is set in? Given its set decades prior to TOS, Spock and Nero going back in time shouldn't have created any significant changes to the timeline yet. The episode discussed in this thread pretty much confirms it as Prime. It was never really goi...

Re: Star Trek (DIS): Despite Yourself

I also like Discovery (I have plenty of complaints, but overall very much enjoy it and loved the hell out of the Mirror Universe arc), but I agree the vitriol is a bit over the top. Part of it is also that I have moved so far away from the "ruined my childhood" attitude of criticism. A bad story is...

Re: Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 trailer and panel

With all the comments accusing DIS of being 'politically correct', 'agenda pushing' and now the accusation that its not trying hard enough... If I were a producer or writer on the show, I'd be banging my head against the wall. Personally. I feel that what they're doing is fine and still more than mo...

Re: Star Trek (DIS): Despite Yourself

While not played by a Trans actress, there's no reason Tilly couldn't be a trans character or just about anyone. That would be a can of worms ti tackle, especially given recent upsets regarding cis actors okaying trans characters, its tricky. Given whats been shown before with 23rd century cosmetic...

Re: Star Trek (DIS): Despite Yourself

Does anyone on here like Discovery? Me, Linkara and a few other YouTube people... And a couple of friends of mine. Definitely has problems to work through and I hope season 2 can win some over. We'll see, if no Trek fan ever gave a show another chance after 1 season then there would be a whole lot ...

Re: Star Trek (DIS): Despite Yourself

There are Nazis who like Star Wars. Which is almost as weird as being a Nazi who likes Wolfenstein. It's a franchise about killing Space Nazis. So I'm not surprised. I won't name names or channels but one guy will sing the praises of DS9, the show with only one Caucasian main crew member, yet mocki...
