Re: DS9 - Soldiers of the Empire
Am I the only one who thinks "How Martok Got His Groove Back" would have made a great alternate title for this episode?

Re: What video games are you playing?
Been playing LOTRO (Lord of the Rings Online) a lot. Mainly working the current festival.
Also, we now live in a reality where Mario and Sephiroth are in the same video game.

Re: TNG - Half a Life
Not gonna lie, I'm rather jealous that you got to have your grandma around for such a good chunk of your life, Chuck. I had my maternal grandmother and paternal grandfather die within days of each other while I was still a bun in the oven. My paternal grandmother died when I was seven. My maternal g...

Re: TOS - Who Mourns for Adonais?
I spent decades thinking this episode was titled "Who Mourns for Adonis". Same. I'm also disappointed in Kirk for using violence to resolve a situation he could have easily solved with seduction. Apollo swings both ways, as any scholar will tell you. True facts. Also, Kirk should be glad that he wa...

Re: SpaceX Crew Dragon Splashdown
My mom was so happy watching both the launch and the splashdown. She's about as young as a person can be to have watched the Apollo 11 moon landing and remember it well, and she was in college when the Challenger disaster happened. She's always been a big fan of NASA and was really sad when the spac...

https://apnews.com/c4645f9e0c206471414b8c1dd7d5ab49 Hoo, boy. You can make all the "haunted by Harriet Tubman's ghost" jokes you want, but that doesn't change the fact that these statements were made by a man who's clearly not mentally stable. And mental illness is no laughing matter. Tru...

Re: Book: Jurassic Park
I read the book at age 10 or thereabouts (I was reading 5th grade level books in the 1st grade, so reading above my demographic was nothing new for me). I saw it on the family bookshelf and thought "Hey, the movie was scary but cool, the book must be even better!" I don't remember much about the mor...

I think I stumbled across this show via Linkara. Somewhere in the Blip days.

Re: TOS: Patterns of Force
Trying to reignite the "glory days" of a past civilization is far from being a new phenomenon. It's probably been around since there were past civilizations for people to look back on. Just look at Renaissance faires. It's not an automatic bad idea to look to the past for inspiration. I think it jus...
