Re: Discussing the Use (or lack thereof) of Female Characters in Dragon Ball

(Controversial opinion time) I think that the Japanese understand marketing far better than Americans do. One of the reasons imo that Manga outsells American comics is because American comics nowadays are aimed at everyone. And you know the adage about trying to please everyone? Yep - you end up pl...

Re: Minor Trek Bad Guys

Me, I'm still wondering if that mob planet ever tried to get a piece of the Federation's action.

Re: Lower Decks season 5

My issue with the Bak'u, beside the ones that you all have, is that their story falls apart under the barest scrutiny. They claim to have been there for centuries and centuries but their community is so small that if that were true they'd all be horribly inbred and we see that's not the case. They a...

Re: Lower Decks season 5

The fact the civilian ship came INTO a battle, cloaked and than decloaked... honestly, who knows what it was doing there. Theirs a fan theory that the Federation only did this to throw Worf under the bus so the Klingons could come back as an ally. I don't agree, but like... Sisko comes off super we...

3. What do you have to do to be demoted as an Admiral in Starfleet? Visit the Genesis planet? The guy needed to be cashiered. I mean, I guess there should have been some punishment for Admiral Kurtz here, but at the same time, Boimler wasn't punished for his (brief) desertion after the admiral won ...

Re: Lower Decks season 5

I really liked the episode for multiple reasons. 1. Jennifer and Mariner broke up obviously but as a multi-arc relationship and Star Trek’s second on-screen queer relationship (barring Jax’s one off), it deserved a conversation. At least IMHO. Jennifer also was a character many of us liked for bein...

And speaking for myself, I prefer it that way. Oh sure it's easy to go overboard with that sort of thing but some well executed silly fun is quite welcome so far as I'm concerned.

Re: Discuss DS9's Final Season

I will always maintain my belief that in any realistic universe the FCA would have done a Julius Caesar to Rom within short order. They are cutthroat, they are ambitious, they are absolutely not above murder, and they will have a large pool of candidates to choose from once Rom starts his radical r...

Re: Which Creative Decision Hurt the Star Wars Disney Sequel Trilogy the Most?

"Somehow, Palpatine has returned" I am going with this. Or letting Johnson run wild with no supervision for The Last Jedi. If they got Johnson to write the second movie that furthered the first movie's storyline, then we wouldn't have to deal with Palpatine oking back. Not sure that's the case. Abr...

Re: Hamas Attacks Israel

Garland is announcing charges against Hamas. Which...yes, absolutely. It is a terrorist government. We should also announce them against Netanyahu. I would argue that charges should be announced against Netanyahu first, given all the murder and raping the IDF have been getting up to on his watch. N...
