Re: Zardoz

I mean... This film was so fucked up and so odd and so strange I had to have someone else try to make sense of it. And you can pay Chuck to do that... And frankly given the film in question, no wonder it took so long.

Re: Zardoz

I'm just glad the review finally went through. My last requested review from SFDebris and it took years to see. ... Yup! Worth it! So thank you Chuck. I don't care who knows that I requested this. It was me! ME! Mainly because the request for it to be "Slipped Under the Door" was made years ago too....

Re: Star Trek: Into Darkness

Well there's also been no mention of Tarsus IV either, witnessing 4000 people killed by Kodos would have had a significant effect on ones development I should think. Though It could just be that being born 2 1/2 months early fucked up his mental development. Anyway I find Kirk's whining about Spock...

Re: Star Trek: Into Darkness

Well Kirk is a fundamentally different man because he lacks his father's influence. It gets back to what I said about Beyond. Beyond acts like the previous 2 movies didn't happen and he's just classic Kirk. Some people like that. Other people don't. So without his dad he became this an immature whi...

Re: The Orville Marathon

I was initially leery of The Orville, and I will agree with Chuck that the first couple of episodes were nothing really special. But "Priya" and "Krill" won me over and I'm eagerly anticipating the next season. I too get a little tired of the anti-religious bent (and hope they ease up on that in Sea...

Chuck's review pointed me to this movie, and I'm glad I watched it. It has since become one of my absolute favorites.

Re: Should Disney Adapted The Thrawn Trilogy?

I would have liked to have seen Disney adapt the Thrawn Trilogy. I know it would have required recasting the main characters but it would have been a far better and more coherent story than the Sequel Trilogy as is. They could have been directly involved in helping the new actors get their character...

Re: Your Headcanons?

I actually wrote a full on fic for a Voyager headcanon of mine: Talaxians produce pheromones that essentially get other species stoned off their asses. Most Delta Quadrant species are now immune after prolonged contact, but Alpha Quadrant species definitely aren't. It would neatly explain a lot of t...

Re: "Pathfiner," Stupid Neelix Moment?

I had a head canon that the Talaxians once had a massive empire across the Delta Quadrant but squandered it and were pushed back and defeated by numerous powers-The most recent war Neelix draft dodged was just the last gasp of their ambitions. It might explain Neelix's self entitlement: It's a cultu...
