Re: Star Wars Vader Comic - OMG!
Darth Vader isn't out of character here, thankfully, but I do agree the scenario presented is probably too nasty and cruel due to the out-of-universe implications.

Re: Code Geass
I'm the kind of person who enters a thread and wants to reply to every single comment in the thread, but I'm going to somehow limit myself to just making one suggestion, which is to not do too much digging into Code Geass' background and lore. Something in Code Geass' timeline that happened 300 yea...

Re: Code Geass
Kind of interesting that they didn't draw Kallen's nipples on in this episode, but later on you can ever so briefly see them thanks to some Gainax physics. I think Chuck might have spoken too soon. I was curious and went to check. There is a brief frame where that was actually drawn in this episode...

Re: Code Geass
I think it's entirely fair to wonder whether Leloch is really making things worse or not, according to the viewer's personal sense of ethics and morality. That will vary depending on each situation. Naturally, we will eventually get to see some of the consequences, both positive and negative, in due...

Re: Brexit Rambles
I feel bad about the people who are suffering or who will suffer the consequences of this, but the whole mess confirms that chaos provides great material for comedy.

Re: The Mary Sue: History and Context
It's an interesting video. As mentioned, some people use the term Mary Sue as a way to criticize a huge number of protagonists who can overcome their enemies and win, sometimes too easily, but that's not really a useful understanding of the label. It becomes just another word for "overpowered" and t...

Re: Code Geass
Maybe. I'd say both Char and Magneto have a bit more to them than Lelouch though, at least intellectually, because they both have some sort of greater ideal beyond their quest for revenge. Magneto wants to protect/free mutants and Char wants to actualize his father's vision of humanity in space. Le...

Re: What Will Happen to the X-Men Film Series After Dark Phoenix?
I hope they simply let the property rest for a few years and come back with a reboot using completely new actors and learning from the flaws of the more recent films. Not using anything resembling the Phoenix plot so soon would be great. Deadpool can stay and may break the fourth wall in order to re...

Re: Where next for the MCU?
I think they don't want to spend all of their cosmic capital, so to speak, since they'll eventually want to have more space-based threats in future movies once Thanos is out of the way. But maybe not immediately, I can imagine, so a lot of concepts and characters from the comics may not be introduce...

Re: Code Geass
It's another show that fails when the developers go for grand, sweeping scales when the small-scale conflicts and ethical questions make the show engaging. Is Lelouch really justified, and are his actions worth the damage done to his friends and family (non-psychotic family, at least)? However, a l...
