Re: Planetes: 1-4

Planetes is one of those Sci-Fi shows that seems mostly plausible... till you play KSP and realize some scenes don't make much sense. Like with the coffin. Ai was threathening to chuck it back into Earth or something. Except she has no way in hell of achieving enough of change in dV to accomplish th...

Re: Planetes: 1-4

Should we mention to Chuck that "I"'s name pretty much literaly means LOOOOVE :D

But yes, Ai can get reeeeaaaaaaaaly annoying when she is on one of her crusades.

Re: Full Metal Panic!

Ah yes, the anime I bounced HARD off from... while I loved it's comedy season Fufmou. I just found it's constant switching between light-hearthedness and EDGE to be jarring. One moment throwing explosives at a packed corridor full of teens is supposed to be HILARIOUS but the next moment we are going...

Re: Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha

Exactly. Don't behave their age. Nanoha doesn't look afraid by Arf's murder threat (when that's like one of childhood's greatest fears, probably a primal instinctive holdover from our tribal days), and the TSAB wants to lock up kids under ten for hundreds of years. It's horrifying. I can see why in...

Re: Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha

Well for one, power can come to kids reaaaaly early (Nanoha can level cities at 9), so it's not too surprising that they tend them to higher accountability than we'd expect. On the other hand ages are pretty much the artifact of this going for the Magical Girl genre where protagonists tend to be you...

Re: Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha

Second might be a refference on my name and also kinda new agey gibberish, and third is I think DEEEEEEEEEEP lore.

Re: Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha

Okay, I watched the review, but the last four or five pages of this thread read like gibberish about some other show. Sorry about that :D Nanoha fandom tends to be small, but quite argumentative and pretty split on certain issues which tends to cause this. I'll limit myself to allusions so there ar...

Re: Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha

Well... the biggest problem of Force is how it introduced it's incident and the antagonist. Shading them so PITCH BLACK that you'd find it hard to think anyone would not consider them straight out irredeemable villains. And THEN they started backpeddaling HARD from that. Plus for me at least I LOATH...

Re: Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha

Oh boy I didn't at all like Vivid Strike, but probably this shouldn't be a place to talk about it. In fact I haven't really liked anything in the franchise since Gears of Destiny, and while StrikerS had massive pacing issues and trying to cram content of a bigger season in 24 episodes while keeping ...

Re: Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha

I'm only mentioning this as curious tidbits that won't really matter much in future :D Given that the family basically don't exist after the first season it won't matter at all, though the fact that they're all samurai bodyguards probably explains why "bye Dad I'm off to save the world" is not rega...
