Re: Strange New Worlds

Did they praise Elon Musk again? At least TOS never referenced current events, because that would have doomed the franchise if the ha......hahahahahaha, sorry I thought I could get through that sentence without laughing. This close, this damn close, Trek has always referenced current events to use ...

Re: Strange New Worlds

The premiere was alright, but I'd really want to see the series being handled by someone else rather than Kurtzman and Goldsmith and their handpicked writers. It's pretty clear that whatever good ideas they had were used up in the first half of the show, since the latter half of S1 was inferior. I ...

Re: Lower Decks: Crisis Point

For me it isn't just the holodeck program. I can understand using the holodeck to work through psychological issues. The thing for me is forcing your "friends" to experience as well, without asking them first. Not just forcing your 'friends' to experience it, but also getting one of them to play a ...

Re: Lower Decks: Crisis Point

This one really does say that Mariner is seriously, seriously messed up. That later gets followed up in future seasons. If anything, Mariner is a basket case of issues, though we still don't know how she got to that point. I kinda feel like we do. Like Chuck said in a prev review, she is a Starflee...

If anything, Mariner is a basket case of issues, though we still don't know how she got to that point. Combo of her being one of the kids on the Enterprise D (not confirmed yet but it makes too much sense given what we know about her past) followed by her likely first joining Starfleet at the heigh...

Yeah. The holodeck adventure / video game got a lot less fun in between the wanton killing and torture implications.

Re: Lower Decks - Much Ado About Boimler

Chuck thought Ramsey was a former friend of Mariner. According to the showrunner, she dated Mariner at the academy. You also just mentioned something about Mariner that I didn’t really pick up on during the show: Her friend, Capt. Amina Ramsey, was her lover when they were at the Academy? Yeah. We w...

...and Star Trek Online just made Trek history. Congrats to the team for getting the chance to add their ships into Picard Season 2!

Re: Star Trek: Picard Season 2

Everyone basically agrees this is a lot more idealistic, addresses most of the issues of Season One, and is a lot more bright/Star Trek/Star Fleet. I'm annoyed because I liked the civilian/Rogue/Criminal element of Season One. I did like the seediness of the first season as well. That wasn't an ele...
