Re: Undiscovered Country Discussion

Now I want to see Chuck review Chernobyl. Seriously, this was an awesome review, as I stated before about Wrath of Khan, sometimes I want Chuck making inappropriate jokes about a midget being beaten up by two linebackers, and other times, I just want to hear the facts. The change in tone is no less ...

Re: Star Trek Dsicovery: Season Three

So whatever happened to Aditya Sahil? Was he ever mentioned again? You would think after Discovery found he Federation that at least Burnham would have gone back and told him or something.

Re: Wrath of Khan discussion

Again, I'm a bit spoiled with the Genesis Wave books, but the initial research team was private, only going to the Federation when they needed the Regula Station and the asteroid hollowed out. I can imagine that the advantages were heavily touted, and perhaps the scientists didn't even think about t...

Re: Wrath of Khan discussion

I guess I'm spoiled from reading the Genesis Wave book series, but even that aside, I wouldn't think Genesis would be something the Federation would readily pursue. McCoy's immediate reaction as to use it in a hostile manner proves the point perfectly. It's a weapon that leaves behind a custom-tailo...

Re: Star Trek Dsicovery: Season Three

If all traces of Discovery were erased, and it doesn't appear till after Daniels's and Braxton's times, then there's no way that they would know to intervene. The only way would be to happen to have a time agent on one of the ships involved. Memory Alpha lists the time Daniel brought Archer to in Sh...

Re: Stargate Atlantis The Replicator Trilogy

Well, I'm sure they could have cooked up a technical explanation in the episode, but apparently they're used in real life. Perhaps the four decoys were on a trajectory toward the higher population densities to make the Asurans think Atlantis was going for them wholesale rather than just their new sh...

Re: Stargate Atlantis The Replicator Trilogy

So, quick nitpick for Chuck, it's stated in the dialog that Horizon carries six live warheads and four decoys. So six out of ten is on purpose.

Re: Enterprise-A (SLEP gone wrong?)

If you want to think of it in terms of a modern (21st century) Naval fleet. The Constitutions, Excelsiors, Ambassadors, Galaxies, Sovereigns are the aircraft carriers of their era, the glitz and glamor, front-line ships. In the TOS movie era, the Mirandas are like the destroyers, Oberths are like fr...

Re: Wrath of Khan discussion

It's hinted at elsewhere, and pretty explicit if you think about it, but Starfleet embodies "humans are special" and while technically Starfleet is multicultural, let's face it, it's human-dominated. What I mean by that is Starfleet is regularly shown to be the absolutely most versatile force out th...
