Re: SNW: Memento Mori
I think modern creators just think the fights in Arena were too cringe. And the Gorn in In A Mirror Darkly is a taskmaster hired by space crystals, so he's not going to be the most glowing example of his race. Also, Mirror Universe. In Terrans are a brutish people, so can be the Gorn. I'm also use t...

Re: SNW: Memento Mori
One thing I like about the Gorn in "The Arena" was they owned the fact the suit actor was going to have a hard time moving by making the Gorn hulking, cumbersome beings and it factors into their thinking. As we see in the Gorn captain's initial engagement with Kirk; their hunting strategy is set a t...

Re: SNW: Memento Mori
What I don't like is this flies in the face of the thesis of the Gorn. The whole point was these monstrous-looking creatures are not monsters but sentient beings who have the same faults and virtues as Kirk and his crew and thus have the right to live. Now, they're complete monsters through and thro...

He's also not voiced by Tim Allen, he's voiced by Captain America, work that out.'' Well, he was voiced by Kronk in the show. And Allen would've been perfect for Old Buzz. I guess he and Disney are still in a pissing match over not renewing "Last Man Standing". Really, Disney's biggest problem is w...

The Lesbians in "Lightyear"
Seeing the success of the Mario movie has has me looking back at the disaster that was 2022 for Disney animation. In know the anti-woke crowd screams bloody murder about the gays representation in "Lightyear" and "Strange World." However, as the anti-woke crowd usually is, it doesn't get into the ac...

Re: Star TreK: Section 31 Movie w/Michelle Yeoh Announced
We also learned Section 31 (or at least its progenitor) had existed since the days of United Earth in Enterprise. Reid was a member. as for Section 31 having assets and bases, that puts them on the same level as the Tal Shiar and the Obsidian Order. They would be less well-known than their Romulan a...

Re: Star Trek Picard season 3
Can we just appreciate that this is about the TNG crew saving the day on the Enterprise-D? Speaking of the D, my God they did a gorgeous job with the HD model. In the sneak peek of the finale they do an extended beauty shot that really shows it off. The detail through the windows. The life pods are ...

That got me thinking. The Changeling on the Titan replaced the transporter technician. Perhaps they did that on every ship.

Re: Star Trek Picard season 3
I think this was more a case of serendipity for the Borg rather than some grand plan from the very beginning. They wouldn't have attempted increasingly outlandish attempts to assimilate the Federation if they knew they had this trump card.
