Re: Star Trek: Discovery - thoughts?

Yeah I definitely got some "The Expanse" vibes in certain parts of episode three but eh I didn't mind it. Regarding Lorca, I honestly feel like he's either connected to section 31 in some way(an agent or someone who agrees with Section 31's principals.) or is being used by Section 31. We'll see of c...

Re: Star Trek: Discovery - thoughts?

I enjoyed Discovery for the most part. I questions some of the aesthetic choices but hey it looks good. Regarding Burnham I can see why some might find her irredeemable. In their attempt to show a deeply flawed human make a fatal error.(well errors but whatever.) the writers might of went a bit over...

Re: Can Fandom Ruin a Work?

In my personal opinion no, not really. Yes fandoms will always have those people in them(and sometimes sadly those people can be popular or well liked in the fandom.) and I can certainly understand if some people might choose to never interact with a fandom of a work they like because of how that fa...

95% of the time I'm in the broad strokes camp. Trying to preserve the spirit of the works matters more in my opinion.

Re: The Orville

Episode two was stronger than episode one by a lot. The jokes are still hit or miss though but it's still watchable.

Episode three does concern me given the subject matter but eh as long it's not excessively offensive I think I can live with it.

Re: Enterprise: Space Nazi Two-parter

While there are things this two-parter does right(Trip being a three dimensional character for example.) I won't call this two-parter good. It's a lot better than some of the stuff in season one or season two but it's uneven and at times uninspired. Granted a lot of that is because the temporal cold...

Re: The Orville

Finally found some time to watch the pilot.

I like the look of it and I like most of the characters however a lot the comedy fell flat imo. Still I would recommend it.

Re: Voy: Alter Ego

This episode honestly feels like the writers were stumped for ideas and discovered one of their old "ideas for Trek episodes" notebooks under a pile of newspapers and well combined several half complete ideas from that notebook That said the always nice to see find a decent-ish Voyager episode that ...

Re: The Marvel Cinematic Universe (A.k.A. The MCU)

So last Friday the first two episodes of inhumans were released at some Imax theaters and boy are the reviews harsh to put it mildly. Granted they only saw the first two episodes so it could get better as it goes along. But it could also get worse. For now I'm going to wait and see. If it looks like...
