Taylor would go on to most notably serve as Star Trek: Voyager's showrunner, which she co-created with Berman and Pillar. She ran the writers' room for Voyager its first four seasons and would in total pen over 30 episodes across the Star Trek franchise.

Did Chuck make fun of them in his review?

If you mean Jeri Taylor than he does tend to rip on her in Voyager episodes. Especially those early Jane way holodeck ones.

Man, shame. I may have mocked some of her stuff before but she did seem pretty cool and she was a human being. Hope her family is doing well.

And most of the criticism is pretty valid. She is one of the main contributing factors to Janeway coming off as bipolar. A mother to her men one week and a lunatic willing to sacrifice her people at the drop of a hat for her principles the next. And the Gothic holonovel really was a terrible decision. Science fiction fans come to a science fiction show for science fiction - I do not think that is an unreasonable expectation. Instead we got a LOT of that particular subplot - far more than most people may remember. It wasn't some one and done thing which may have been more tolerable. The give her some credit however the French pool hall was equally terrible and that wasn't her.

RIP. I hold her no ill-will. I am merely looking back at her work with a critical eye.

Lets give Jeri credit on Janeway for one thing... Janeway would not have been as insane as she got in later seasons.

Which was both extremely amusing and horrifying how batshit she got. STILL better than Duchess.

I can't ever see or hear her name without thinking of the words "how totally freakin' awesome Janeway is". 😂
