Well, I did my part for American Democracy, which amounts to giving Donald Trump the middle finger given that my state only has 6 electoral votes while our neighbor has 40.
I voted well in advance of this with a mail-in ballot, but I'm still more tense than a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Planning to watch the Daily Show coverage as soon as it's available to me but no idea what to do until then. Do I try to write? Do I play video games? Do I make an effort to be productive or just try to relax? What's the best way to distract myself and minimize the threat?
This really feels like the whole country is waiting on a pregnancy test result.

I'm of the mind she won, and things are gonna get messy after. Does she have a lot of flaws? Sure. But people always say that and than 'but she's better than Trump' but fuck it, she has good stuff to her I like. Her stuff will help me, and my family, she has good relations with other countries, listens to people who know shit. Biden wasn't great, but god dammit he was a breath of fresh air and the way the media attacked him for the smallest shit made it look so damn petty, especially when they sucked Trump's dick the whole time. But yeah, things will get worse when she wins when Trump's band FREAKS OUT... but man, after that first month, things will calm and after four years, maybe this country will BE a country again.

I think the problem is that Trump couldn't go one week without getting into some drama, and the media got used to that. So when Joe took over they had to actually do their jobs since Joe wasn't going out of his way to get attention.

For me its hard to see how she could be worse than Trump and easy to see how she could be better. First starters, at least she can act like a president which is more than can be said for Trump!

Unfortunately, Trump is a cause, but he is also a symptom. The foundation of what MAGA lies upon was laid decades ago. The secret of his success beyond merely attracting the bigots is that he has expertly manipulated the disenfranchised with empty promises of a brighter future.
Regarding the bigots though, I was listening to a radio presenter today who noted that black segregation and Jim Crow are still within living memory. And the American Civil War that was fought to end slavery? That really wasn't that long ago either. The last surviving Union soldier only died in 1956. He made the argument that some people fooled themselves into thinking that these things happened a long time ago when they really did not and that deep down America has yet to move on.
As I say, not my points, but I think it provides an interesting backdrop to what led to this election.
