Uh...yes. I remember it. I'm not going to watch a 1 hour Aydin Paladin video though. I don't hate myself quite that much right now.

Is there something about the shooting in particular that you think we should be talking about?

How quick media was to try and tie the shooting to Trump

And how quickly news coverage was dropped when it failed to fit into the current media narrative of:

White
Trump inspired
"assault rifle"
weak gun control

Oh. Yeah, it's the same reason that nobody wants to talk about the ever growing list of homicide victims in Chicago, or black on black violence in general, because it doesn't fit the gun control narrative.

If the Democrats ever wise up and drop gun control from their platform, they would suddenly become a potent force in national politics. Which in turn would give them the ability to actually DO something about the forces that drive this kind of thing. But that's unlikely. The urge to tilt at windmills is too strong.

Oh, worm?

The main reason I haven't commented is OP is on my blocklist. But yeah, this is a country that has mass shootings on a weekly basis, so one particular mass shooting not getting a fuckload of press coverage is more a statement of public emotional exhaustion and the depressing state of our nation than a deliberate conspiracy or even confirmation bias. If I posted about every single mass shooting on this website's news section I'd suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome.

With respect, Fuzzy, that's ridiculous. We have hundreds of thousands of reporters in this country, all of whom are looking to sell ink. They don't all get tired at once.

But only certain kinds of stories sell, especially in our modern era of partisan media. Conservatives will buy shooting stories where an armed grandma successfully defends her home against vicious thugs with her properly licensed handgun, with expert commentary about how the evil Democrats want to leave her helpless in the face of violent criminals. Liberals will buy shooting stories where helpless victims are randomly gunned down by "assault weapons," and how these attacks could be prevented if only the evil Republicans would agree to ban guns. Neither side has any basis in reality, and neither side WANTS any basis in reality, because reality is complicated and both sides would rather keep the story simple.

So when a story about a random guy going crazy with a shotgun because of a long standing grudge comes out...it doesn't serve either side, and so it quickly disappears. There's just no hay to be made. No juicy political angle, no scary looking assault rifle, no bump stock. Who the hell wants to buy THAT story?

The vast majority of shootings are gang related. Not saying a school shooting isn't tragic but it sells the
papers faster than every single day in Chicago. No one gets exhausted over a "mass shooting" but they don't care if the shoots are a bunch of black people in poor places.

They also don't care if the shooter didn't use the dreaded "Assault Weapon". The YouTube shooter should of been national news and look how fast that story disappeared. Why? Because it wasn't with an AR-15, wasn't a school, wasn't white and wasn't even a guy.

When a black kid shoots another black kid. They blame it on bad parenting. Gang association, etc. Same with Hispanics. But when a white kid shoots his fellows, they blame guns.

Also, you don't need to have a person blocked to read their post. The fact that I posted something drew you in.
