The BS is strong with this one.
First: College admissions, especially into Ive league Universities, are in fact zero sum games. The number of admissions to Harvard does not changed based on the number of applications. By mathematical necessity, more blacks means less whites, and asians but I'll get to that.
Second: the "self evident" benefits of diversity even for whites is such BS. What studies show this benefit? Why is it so impossible to get diversity with race blind admissions? Why is positive discrimination for "minorities," minus asians, supposed to be the solution for negative discrimination in the past? Two wrongs make a right? There is no merit or benefit to expanding diversity just for diversity’s sake if the cost is racial discrimination.
Third: I guess asians are just collateral damage in the war for "diversity" (against white men) now. Much like Gay White Men before them and Strait White Women will soon be, if a "minority" is too successful they are accused of having privilege and will be thrown under the Intersectionality bus.

No. The argument goes: "Minorities are discriminated against today, thus to ensure fair treatment, affirmative action is necessary to ensure that minorities are treated fairly."Antiboyscout wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 6:32 pm Why is positive discrimination for "minorities," minus asians, supposed to be the solution for negative discrimination in the past?

Then why are asians getting the short end of the stick? Where they not discriminated against in the past or in the present?TGLS wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 6:40 pmNo.

Took me a while to find. Here is some evidence that some minorities, at least women, are positively discriminated for without being forced by law to do so.
"The trial found assigning a male name to a candidate made them 3.2 per cent less likely to get a job interview.
Adding a woman's name to a CV made the candidate 2.9 per cent more likely to get a foot in the door. "

What the fuck does Harvard know? I know a Harvard Feminist who thinks Nazi Germany was a Feminist state. Seriously.
