How do you work out that t he NRA ought to be sued?
The fact that someone prevents the passing of a law that you think would do good does not make them liable.
By that sort of argument, if the ACLU gets someone off on a technicality and they go on to murder someone, the second person's family ought to be able to sue the ACLU.

A gun can kill dozens or hundreds within seconds. That is not comparable to a hammer in the slightest.
