Buckhead Experiences Crime Wave

Post by G-Man »

A year ago, Atlanta Police announced that they would no longer respond to calls about shoplifting in areas, including the upscale neighborhood of Buckhead.

Now, a year later, crime in Buckhead is soaring.

There is a concern among many that while we constantly hear that the criminal justice system is racist and biased, and that "tough on crime" is just anti-black, that a lot of black politicians do not consider black-on-white crime to be a big deal (at least property crimes). Given that the leadership of Atlanta is largely black (the Mayor, the City Council President, 6 out of 12 Districts and 2 out of 3 at large members), and Buckhead is upscale and white, there is some thought that the political leadership simply has little sympathy for the victims of crime there.

Yeah, one has to wonder what the fuck they were smoking, when they thought that not policing crime would not actually lead to an increase of crimes commited. It's almost as if removing the one thing that criminals have to be in fear of, namely being caught and incarcerated, would make it easier and more attractive to commit crimes. The shock. The horror.
