The US has always been on its own island in the UN, as it seems to me. And on top of that, Trump thinks we are too generous with them.

This doesn't really sound like a protection of rape culture, just reactionism to globalism as right-wingers do with limiting federal laws in the US in favor of state sovereignty.

Well, I was speaking mostly of other related topics that come up when you discuss war rape crimes. Not this specifically.
