While it's not all encompassing, I think Yuka's getting at the moral judgement of someone being tested in the biblical sense and otherwise. This is a known theoretical consideration regarding how much agency a person has existentially and the extent to how much we can judge/incarcerate them for things that are beyond their control.

Philosophically it falls generally under a libertarian vs determinism, and does have a theological edition, but more applicably theory of retribution and justice.

I mean more or less. The question approached here is if someone is both bad and whose mental health is in check as brought by some understandable trauma what not. Not that there's always a direct correlation between the two.
