New method of neutrino detection

Post by PerrySimm »

Oak Ridge National Laboratory announced a new method of neutrino detection that does away with gigantic devices deep within mineshafts. 15 kg of caesium iodide solution will do, at least if you have a reliable source of neutrinos to correlate with.

Neutrino-based communications would eliminate the need for elevated antennas or looping fiber around planets, but with a bandwidth of 9 bits per month, the system is far from being a stock market killer.
