There were 11,000+ lightning strikes in one night, which is more than you'd expect in the busiest year. It's never happened before and it started a swath of horrendous fires.

As if it's a regular practice to upkeep literally all the forested area in all of the land.
Oh, you assume it's the government's job instead of forestry companies who will do the job themselves, make profit and pay taxes on top that can be used for upkeep of National parks and forests.
I'm not sure of what business you're talking about that cleans up the forest. At least not sustainably lol. So aside from people that chop the forest down in order to prevent forest fires, what kind of profitable business comes about that results in forests proactively being proofed from fire spread?
Why do people think forestry is "unsustainable". The concept of "planting saplings after cutting so you can come back in 10 years to cut some more" is a well known well implemented thing.

clearing underbrush simply comes with the job of logging, and pre-fallen trees are just easy money, and if you can get over the eyesore, clearcut sections of forests with nothing but newly planted saplings act as very good fire-brakes

Isn't it have been that for awhile now? Cut down a tree, plant a tree when it came to logging companies? It's all about sustainability and future investment right?

I'd imagine those logging sites they take care of those trees as much as they can because its money for them.
I got nothing to say here.
