I've pretty much given up on this forum ever being for "news." Not that watching people do the whole moral outrage thing isn't fun, but I almost think we ought to rename this forum "Political Discussion" or "Partisan Cluster-Fuck" in order to more accurately describe the kind of discussion that usually takes place here.

It is kind of a nice novelty when some actual news is posted in here but it doesn't seem to ever generate the same kind of attention, does it? For my own part, I just kind of say to myself, "oh, that's nice" and never really post anything since I don't usually have anything much to add to it news of probes on Mars or pictures of black holes and the like. :/

Agreed. I don't want to discourage the posting of things that are more ''ain't that cool?'' but I don't have much to add on that subject and there's no like or somesuch equivalent.
