Fuck America. Let's appreciate the beauty of every nation fucking up, for just one moment. I'm sure Fuzzy will draw us back in the regular cesspit, as soon as he wakes up.
Well it'd be nice if you and the rest of the EU could bring some nationalism to the global table.
We know better than allow nationalism take hold.

Good, as I've said before, the European Union is going to collapse. It is not a question of IF but WHEN.

Based on the party vote totals, and whether you treat a vote for Labour as being for or against Brexit, pretty much anyone in the UK can look at the results and claim victory.

However these were European Elections and across the continent, it was mainly a big day for ALDE and the Greens.

And you are not going to answer that question, are you? You'll just sit there and repeat your mantra into eternity, because if it hasn't happened today, it will surely happen tomorrow. Or the day after. All the while ignoring that participation in the voting process was at a historical height allmost all across Europe and given the overall results, the European population overwhelmingly supports the EU. Except for England...

Great. Keep the EU intact. It's the only firewall against Putin.

And yet Marine Le Pen came first in France. I don't think things are as rosy in the House of EU as you like to think my friend.

Oh it's certainly not all sunshine, lollipops and rainbows in the EU, I have no illusions in that regard and I only have to look at my own doorstep to get a sobering experience ala Marine LePen. But it's far from being as doom and gloom as Antiboyscout paints it to be or wishes it to be. Even BrExit isn't as bad and I mostly percieve it as an annoyance at this point in time, because either the UK gets out without a deal or not at all. If they don't leave, I'll welcome this public display of self-induced humiliation for what it is and hope that everyone learns something from it. And if they leave, well... then Britain really isn't our problem anymore, is it? Britain ain't going to collapse over night or at all, it will just continue on on it's merry way of slow decline that it has always been on since the end of World War I at latest. Or maybe it finds new strength and finally kicks out it's consistently failing political establishment in order to create something completely new and it can be an example for the rest of the world. Who knows? vOv

One fact however, I feel is certain. The EU is here to stay. It may shed some weight on the fringes from time to time or choke a bit because it attempted to eat a too big part of the pie, but it's a story of success. The EU ended centuries of war in Europe and managed to bring together French and Germans in mostly harmony, all the while guaranteeing economic prosperity for almost all it's members. Ok, there is Greece, but I did not say the EU is perfect, but that was a bag of shit on fire on the porch regardless of the EU.
It certainly needs work, but I feel that a more cosmopolitan generation of EU citizens is slowly growing up and while the 50 year olds are currently the main voting base, they won't be around forever. And if the protests about climate change shows one thing, then it's that this new generation is willing to stand up for it's interests and it brings change.

EU prosperity is consistent with what makes the US the world market juggernaut.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts. EU isn't perfect, but it's the first stepping stone to something greater, and a firewall against aggressive expansionist nations.

While the effort to unionize to such extent I will call a rather grand effort, sustainable is more the word I would use to describe it instead of great. It's like insurance; it's not (supposed to be) about what you gain, but what you don't lose.
