I thought everyone got hung up on the 'warming' part and we swapped to 'Climate Change' so we could avoid the 'Oh look, it snowed! Checkmate!' jokes.

That's what I said. They gloss over the "global" part of the warming (the average global temperature is rising) and focus on the "warmer" part and say "but it's not warm today!".

Actually we got hung up on the "warming" part because for a good long stretch there, the global average temp had leveled off and even fallen a bit before taking an uptick more recently. It was actually almost outside of the projections the models had made.
