Some say that a president's role in the economy is somewhat glorified.

OK, just in case anyone is interested in the facts.
The Republican National Committee issued a resolution stating that due to constraints on the size of this year's Republican National Convention, it will not be adopting a new party platform, leaving in place the one from 2016.

Unfortunately, the media seems to have missed this one:RESOLVED, That any motion to amend the 2016 Platform or to adopt a new platform, including
any motion to suspend the procedures that will allow doing so, will be ruled out of order.
So, no, Trump is not the entire GOP platform.
But why bother telling the truth when so many people are eager for lies?RESOLVED, That the 2020 Republican National Convention calls on the media to engage in
accurate and unbiased reporting, especially as it relates to the strong support of the RNC for
President Trump and his Administration;

I'll be very interested to see what the percentage of votes are for Trump this election, just to determine how many fucking idiots reside in this country.

That didn't seem to work out last time.
If the democrats want to adopt a bunch of out-of-office, neocon, warhawks who are the main reason we are in the middle east in the first place, they can.
Personally I think they're a bunch of political poison and Trump ejecting them from the party was one of the best political decisions he's made, but go ahead and get praised by Jeff Flake. Have Biden praise John McCain. I'm sure all the democratic voters have forgotten that McCain was Literally Hitler not too long ago.

The only one I know of is Hoover who served one term during the early years of the Great Depression. But it wasn't his fault at all. He is the only one I know of that might, might in a different lense could count. But that would be stretching it.TGLS wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 12:50 pmYeah well, I think your going to have a very hard time finding a president who single-handedly destroyed the economy in one term. On the other hand, the list of presidents who lost elections because the economy sucked is relatively long.McAvoy wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 1:46 am That last part. Is anyone better off now or even before Covid happened then 2016? Or was it business as usual?
His constant claim that he made the greatest economy in history. He was sitting on an economy that statistically was going up since Obama. He just didn't do anything that made it go down. So good for him, he didn't fuck with the economy.
Moral: Presidents get blame and credit for results, not whether or not they're responsible.
But since we are on it, how many times have we seen Fox News or conservative sites compared to Obama's first year versus Trump's first year when it came to the economy? Basically Obama's time as President basically had a shit start and he did have a economy that bounced back and was steadily growing at a nice rate when Trump eventually took over.
I got nothing to say here.
