This is the latest technological variation of the world's oldest profession, and somehow it is the fault of "capitalism"? If that is true, that would suggest that capitalism is the natural state of economics iin civilized societies..
There is an argument that if a woman has to sell her body to go through college or pay for her cancer drugs, maybe those things cost too much?

Clearspira, I'm shocked to say I completely agree with you here and you have very good points.

Sex workers are possibly the only people on the internet who've had to change platforms as often as Chuck. Another sad chapter in the saga of Gentrification of the Internet.
C) I will say however that I have never understood why any guy would pay money to follow a woman on one of these sites when there is plenty of perfectly good free porn out there.
Why do people go to restaurants when they already have food at home? There's all sorts of reasons to prefer curated creator content over the stuff you can just scroll up anywhere, and it doesn't have to be an either/or situation.

At least before that whole mess with Visa/MasterCard and those alleged reports of underage videos on the site (FtR, there's only been 100-ish real incidents out of tens of millions of videos in the last decade) leading to them gutting their archive and requiring profile verification to post.

Same reasoning behind Tumblr dumping their Adult blogs (though they actually had a proper problem there. If you knew the right tags, you could find some proper criminal trash).
Tumblr was kind of a burning-the-village-to-save-it case, only it turns out the invaders are fireproof. That place is still crawling with pornbots. At least the tagging system made it easy to avoid stuff you wanted to not see.

Who says they have to? By far most women I know who had to earn their living and their fees, did so by doing regular, menial jobs. I'm sorry, but I find it hard to believe that even a significant minority of women in that industry do so, because they have no other choice...

I wonder if I'm the minority who thinks there's nothing demeaning inherent to sex work and the biggest thing about Only Fans was that it put the money in the hands of the women performers rather than the people advertising/marketing it.

People can and should be able to display themselves without it being either the last choice possible or with condescension from a pruidish society. The benefit here is merely that it cut out the middle man and exploitative management.

No, I fully agree. As long as you're of majority age, you should be able to utilize your body as you see fit, be it recreationally or professionally.

Hell, I'm one of those folks who wants ALL sex work to be legalized and regulated, including anything done 'in-person', as it were. Same reasoning as marijuana legalization, adds a new source of tax revenue and more gov't oversight should lead to less abuse and less power in the hands of nefarious elements.

Sorta, kinda. Ideally, yes, but these days many of these platforms, even the ostensibly "you're in charge" ones, are structured to just spread the exploitation around. Same amount, just much thinner and affecting more people, and as a bonus it makes the victims increasingly culpable in victimizing others in that exploitation so that everyone is reluctant to fix or even admit they've participated.

Well as we're seeing, it's already falling apart due to money. Celebrity content is more valuable than amateur (or perhaps "indie" or "self-published") content and that means squeezing the little gal. I remember a Hulu documentary on this that said it started with formerly of Disney's mouse factory Bella Thorne putting her barely risque content on and gaining the majority of traffic vs. the actual porn.

Now the traffic is apparently "cleaning up the place" for more celebrities.

Logically this post makes like no sense for consideration.

Madner Kami wrote: Sun Jun 27, 2021 11:14 am There's non-pornographic content on OnlyFans? I thought it's only for that... huh, wierd. Anyways, never paid for any of the content there, but my guess is that it allows to cater for/to specific demands, something which "mass produced" porn doesn't, in one way or another.
Yeah apparently there is. Some D list celebrities use it as a way to make money and keep themselves in the public eye.

I remember reading that girl 'cash me outside' is now on that once she turned 18 and made like a million dollars in one day.
