From what I've heard it's a bad Mastadon clone that got hacked and crashed before it was even announced.
It's going the same problems Gab and Parlor do even if it works perfectly. You can't have a real social network when everyone is an attention seeking troll using all the same talking points.

Not only that, but they're using it in violation of the license (if it is indeed Mastodon). The AGPLv3 license does allow anyone to use it freely in making their own platform, but it also requires developers who use it to acknowledge the authorship and continue to share it in the same manner in which they are benefiting from it.
Currently they aren't doing that, making them in violation of the terms of the license and therefore infringing on the copyright of the author(s). It's not that hard to act in compliance, but of course they didn't do that.

Like it's the first time Trump shafted the builders of something he used.Deledrius wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 5:03 pmNot only that, but they're using it in violation of the license (if it is indeed Mastodon). "Again, distancing myself from Trump as person, the fact remains that he has a lifetime ban from Twitter and a years ban from Facebook. Meanwhile it refuses to ban people who are literally affiliated with terrorists, rapists and pedos.Riedquat wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 10:12 amSeems pretty straightforward to me. Seriously that series of words is incoherent outside of a very specific bubble.clearspira wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 7:03 amA social media site is only as successful as the amount of people that join and look at the ads. Putting aside the fact that its Trump for a second, the left wing bias of Twitter and Facebook have left a gap for a right-wing platform developed by someone with millions of dollars to come along and clean up. In Britain we have a TV news channel called GBNews that launched this year and is doing great due to the hatred of Sky and the BBC's left wing bias. Nigel Ferage has a show and his time slot is one of the most watched shows PERIOD. As in, irrespective of genre.
I think that this has the potential to be highly successful. And that the Left will run a cancel campaign against its advertisers immediately. I know this because the Left tried that against GBNews too.
Although most of the mainstream platforms have a shocking lack of tolerance for people who aren't completely aligned with them, with a large dose of "we're so obviously right and pure anyone who disagrees with us is thus clearly vermin we don't need to behave civilly to" what I expect we'll get from Trump is the same but from his less well supported perspective; it's just another reflection of the pathetically over-simplified polarised outlook everyone seems to have descended in to.
The idea that Facebook is right wing is a claim only someone on the far left could make."
I fail to see how this isn't on the level of the history and science denial that (clearspira) also tends to spread.

Fox became a major broadcasting network by marketing to moderate audiences specifically.

Not a counter argument. Try harder.goodperson25 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 8:02 pm"Again, distancing myself from Trump as person, the fact remains that he has a lifetime ban from Twitter and a years ban from Facebook.
